This is a vintage ceramic wall-mounted flour container with a wooden lid, dating from the 1920s or 1930s.

Featuring art deco geometric design, this earthenware container was manufactured by Gránitgyár (often branded as Gránit), a historic Hungarian porcelain and stoneware factory located in Kispest, Budapest. This was made for export to Austria, Germany or Switzerland given the use of Mehl (flour) on the front.

Condition: Good. No cracks or large chips in the glaze but the hinges on the wooden top have worn away. There is also some dis-colouration (see photos).
